We are excited and proud to announce that our 200 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Pooling Substation in Maniyachi, Thoothukudi was inaugurated on 12th February by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M.K. Stalin, virtually from Chennai. Leap Green Energy is proud to share that we have been honored with the Best Performing Wind Farm Awards for the third consecutive year in the 2023-24 period. Once again, we excelled in both the Zone I Above 2 MW and Zone II Above 2 MW categories, as recognized by the Indian Wind Power Association on August 17, 2024.

Brookfield has announced an equity investment in Leap Green Energy. Brookfield and Leap Green recently entered into definitive strategic investment agreements pursuant to which Brookfield has acquired a majority controlling stake in the Company. Brookfield has provided an upfront commitment to make an equity investment of over US$200 million in Leap Green, through a combination of subscription of new shares and acquisition of shares from current shareholders. Additionally, Brookfield has an option to infuse further US$350 million of incremental equity capital to support the future growth of the business. Brookfield shall work alongside the Company's existing shareholders to enhance the Company's capabilities and grow the platform to in excess of 3 GW over the next four to five years.
Brookfield's investment will be made through the Brookfield Global Transition Fund I (BGTF I), in line with its strategy of focusing on investments that accelerate the global transition to a net-zero carbon economy while delivering strong risk-adjusted returns to investors. BGTF I's capital invested in Leap Green shall provide impetus to the platform's growth ambitions in India's rapidly expanding C&I segment. Tamil Nadu, with a total addressable, growing renewable C&I market of ~20 GW is a key target market for Leap Green. By combining Brookfield's access to capital, procurement, operational expertise, and Leap Green's in-house development, asset management and customer servicing capabilities, the business is well-positioned to cater to the decarbonization targets of the C&I segment. Leap Green Energy has been honoured with the prestigious award for Digital Technology of the Year in the category of Forecasting & Scheduling from India Wind Energy Forum Leadership Awards on 22nd May 2024 at Bengaluru.
Leap Green Energy hosted an interactive discussion on the latest regulations by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission (TNERC) regarding forecasting, scheduling, deviation settlement, and other aspects for wind and solar generation. The event also covered the draft TNERC detailed procedure for managing RE curtailment and the draft TNSLDC procedure for forecasting and scheduling. Held at The Residency Towers in Coimbatore on 28th February 2024.

During August 2017 our Founder & CEO Mr.Dev Anand Vijayan along with Dr. Saikumar, IAS then CMD/ TANGEDCO/ TANTRANSCO, and top officials of TANGEDCO/ TANTRANSCO visited the prestigious National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) at Denver, to have first-hand knowledge of the facilities available at NREL, mainly focused on large scale integration of Renewable energy into the grid. Also discussed on latest technologies available in forecasting and scheduling of RE. Also visited their wind turbine testing station one of the biggest in the world. They have also attended an international conference and exhibition on energy storage at San Diego. Discussed with various stake holders and renowned leaders in energy storage area.They have visited the world's largest Solar Thermal power plant at Las Vegas. The installed capacity of the plant is around 377 MW. Operating since 2014.
